MC '14 RECAP
Established in 1923, the Student Missionary Union has called forth, and spurred on, students in the advancement of the Gospel. We champion God’s desire to see every student live and be transformed by the understanding that Jesus’ last command is worthy of being our first priority – to therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Matt 28:16-20).
For the past 85 years, Biola University and the Student Missionary Union have hosted the largest entirely student-led missions conference in the United States. Missions Conference is a three-day event with seven major sessions, numerous seminars, and musical guests. Through various activities, cultural events, and performances, students experience transformational education as they contemplate the calling of the Great Commission on the life of every Christian.
Exists to help students feel connected and engaged through strong organization of each of Missions Conference’s seven sessions. Throughout the conference, the Global Awareness department creates several rooms for students to experience and reflect on various cultures. Between the coordinators, MC staff members, and volunteers, over 75 people help create Global Awareness each year.
